15 Minute Complimentary Phone Consultations

Finding a therapist can be an intimidating process. Therapists are trained across a wide range of therapeutic modalities to help with the various challenges that life presents. Research has shown that the type of evidence-based treatment is not the most important factor when considering treatment outcomes. You might be wondering, “what is the strongest predictor of treatment outcomes?”. It is the relationship! The relationship is at the heart of therapy. The relationship between therapist and client is a unique relationship that supports the client to be vulnerable in a safe, empathic, respectful and confidential setting without judgement. The professional nature of these relationships keeps the focus on the clients and their well being while adhering to professional guidelines, ethics and boundaries. By speaking with a therapist during a 15 minute session, you can decide if the therapeutic relationship is the right one for you.

What should I expect in my session?

The standard psychotherapy session is booked for 60 minutes, in this time you will spend 50 minutes with your therapist and your therapist will spend the remaining 10 minutes preparing for and documenting your session.

Before your first session you will be sent some “house keeping” such as consent, and an intake form. Please ensure you have completed these as soon as possible as your therapist will review them prior to meeting you. You may also be sent questionnaires ahead of your regular sessions. In your session you can expect to spend a little time at the beginning briefly checking in and collaboratively planning how best to spend your time.

You will spend the majority of the session working toward goals, learning new skills, troubleshooting problems and exploring aspects of your life. The sessions will conclude with a brief check in and feedback to ensure you are on track with your treatment goals.
