COVID-19 Appointment Protocol
Elora Physiotherapy is authorized by the provincial government and the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario to provide in-person care. A number of adjustments have been made at the clinic in order to keep our clients, staff and the community safe while during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The following is a list of steps that must be taken during each in-person visit at Elora Physiotherapy.
In advance, the staff at Elora Physiotherapy would like to thank you for following these standards while we continue to promote health and safety for all.
1. Forms To Sign
On the day of your appointment, you are required to fill out an online COVID screening questionnaire. The form will be emailed to you two hours before your appointment. This form ensures you are an appropriate candidate for in-person care. Please note this form must be completed before each appointment. If you do not see this form in your inbox the day of your appointment, please check your junk folder. Call the clinic if you do not see it, or if you do not have email the screen can be completed verbally. If you do not pass the COVID screen, you will not be permitted to enter the clinic and we can utilize virtual appointments instead.
2. Arrival at the Clinic
When you arrive at the clinic please use the hand sanitizer at the rear entrance and again outside the clinic door. Our administrative team will confirm you have completed and passed your COVID screening questionnaire and your temperature will be taken.
All clients are required to wear a face mask. You may bring your own face mask, which can be either cloth or paper. If you do not have a mask, you may purchase one upon your arrival at the clinic for $2.00. When you enter the clinic, please ensure that your mask is on.
4. Personal Items
If possible, please limit the personal items you need to bring into the clinic.
5. Others in your Appointment
If you require someone to accompany you to your appointment, they will be required to provide their name, phone number, verbally complete the COVID screen questionnaire upon arrival and also have their temperature taken.
6. Hand Sanitizing
Once you enter the building, you must stop at the hand sanitizing station and sanitize your hands prior to entering the elevator or using the stairs. Once out of the elevator, you must stop and sanitize your hands again just outside the clinic door.
7. Temperature Taking
Our administrative team will take your temperature with a touchless thermometer. If your temperature is 100.4°F/38°C or higher, you have a fever and will not be permitted for in-person care. It is then advised to resume treatment with virtual appointments.
8. Waiting Room
Prior to entering the clinic, please remove all footwear and leave on the trays provided outside the clinic. Upon entering the clinic, you may sit in our socially distanced waiting room and we will promptly bring you to your room.
Washrooms are available for use and are sanitized after each use.
All appointments are completed in completely private treatment rooms. If the gym is to be utilized it will be with one client and therapist at a time to maintain social distancing. All equipment and treatment rooms are thoroughly sanitized after use.
11. After Your Appointment
Once the appointment is complete, your therapist will walk you back to the waiting room where we maintain social distancing between clients at all times.
The front desk and any touch points are thoroughly sanitized between each client.
As you exit the clinic please sanitize your hands outside the clinic door prior to entering the elevator or staircase, and again at rear of building as you exit.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation
Together, we will get through this!
