BSc(Hon), MSc(PT)
Credentials
- Master of Science in Physical Therapy
- Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Health Science, Specialized Honours
Anne Marie completed her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Health Science with Specialized Honours at York University. She went on to obtain her Master of Science in Physical Therapy at the University of Toronto in 2015.
Her clinical focus encompasses pelvic health physiotherapy, with a particular interest in prenatal and postpartum care. She has advanced post-graduate level training in assessing and treating the pelvic floor, which includes treating pelvic health disorders such as urinary and fecal incontinence, prolapse, dyspareunia, other types of pelvic pain such as painful periods and endometriosis, pregnancy-related pelvic girdle pain, caesarean birth preparation and recovery, and maternal labour and delivery support. She is also currently completing a certificate in Postnatal Fitness, providing another key support for her perinatal clients and their goals. Anne Marie prides herself on taking a holistic approach to care, and is devoted to getting to the root cause of a client’s concern, understanding the impactful changes a whole person’s treatment plan can have on the quality of their life.
Anne Marie also has extensive experience working in orthopaedics in various clinical settings and in the community. She has paediatric experience, having worked at ErinoakKids and Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital. These opportunities have provided her with the skills to conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized treatment plans that prioritize her clients’ goals at any age or stage of life.
Anne Marie’s treatment approach to both pelvic health and orthopaedic concerns involves a combination of manual therapy techniques, active rehab and exercise, and using adjuncts including acupuncture, K-taping, and pain education. She is always levelling up her skills through continuing education courses to ensure her clients are receiving the most up-to-date evidenced-based and effective interventions. Anne Marie is passionate about empowering clients to prioritize their health and get them back to doing what they love throughout their lifespan. She always tries to incorporate care in a functional manner – whether that’s facilitating crawling for a little one, getting you back to sport after an injury, helping you start gardening again post-surgery, or relieving pelvic girdle pain for a pregnant client. She is a firm believer that when we are moving well, we can lead more fulfilling lives.
Outside of the clinic, you can find Anne Marie spending time with her two little boys, husband, and extended family. She loves the outdoors, camping, watching her beloved Maple Leafs (winning or losing), and when time allows, reading a good thriller.
